Reading helps us soar!
SHES Library Mission
The mission of the Snow Hill Elementary School library is to provide quality instruction and resources that inspire a love for reading, encourage reflection, and support learners in the quest for ideas and information.
SHES Library Vision
Snow Hill Elementary School students will develop a love for reading and lifelong learning through participating in a library program that provides a warm and welcoming environment, equitable access to quality resources, and opportunities to appreciate literature, collaborate with peers, and develop critical thinking skills. Students and educators will view the library as the heart of the school. The library media center will strive to be a center of collaborative learning that produces enthusiastic, creative, and compassionate learners.
Meet Mrs. Axel
Hi! I am Mrs. Axel, your new library media specialist! I taught English Language Arts for 15 years before deciding that the library is the place I am meant to be. I am so excited to meet all of you this year. I love reading and I hope we can have some great conversations about our favorite books and authors. My daughter, Sloan, loves to read books about animals. Some of my favorite books are: Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff, and What Do You Do With an Idea? by Kobi Yamada.
I can't wait to hear about the books you love reading!
